- Don E. Ackerman Research Fellowship in Educational Leadership
The Don E. Ackerman Research Fellowship in Educational Leadership supports research that advances leadership in education through better understanding or practice.

The Research Fellowship in Distance Education provides funding to support research endeavors that contribute both theoretical and applied knowledge to the growing field of distance education. This program is designed to encourage research conducted in the name of the university and to continuously improve the distance-education programs at Walden through research.

Faculty Research Initiative Grant Program
The Faculty Research Initiative Grant program was established to support excellence in scholarly work by providing funding for select faculty research projects deemed to be of exceptional merit. The program is open to all faculty who have been employed by Walden for a minimum of six months and is intended to provide “seed money” for the development of faculty research agendas. Funds can be used to support pilot research projects, small scale research studies and to supplement new areas of investigation that are spin-off studies or sub-studies of larger on-going research projects.Open to: Walden faculty

David A. Wilson Award for Excellence In Teaching and Learning
The David A. Wilson Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning seeks to recognize and support the excellence and innovation of Laureate International University network faculty members. The Wilson Award is open to faculty who are employed at a university within the Laureate International University network. Eligible faculty must been employed by Walden for a minimum of two years; demonstrate a strong commitment to Walden and its mission; demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and leaning; show an outstanding success with students and professional respect of peers; and present a compelling research topic on teaching and learning in higher education. The Walden University review committee will nominate one semi-finalist to be considered by the Laureate Global Selection Committee.

2013 Wilson Award Application
GPS Social Media Research Grant
The Social Media Research Grant program was established afford GPS faculty and staff the opportunity to investigate the impact of social media on learning outcomes. The grant program is intended to support research on learning concepts, or current practices, using social media tools in GPS learning environments – in classrooms and online. The grant program will support research that focuses on either social media practices that are currently used in GPS classrooms/learning environments OR research on social media practices that will be proposed for use in GPS classrooms/learning environments as part of the research project.
Full and part time faculty, staff, and administrators employed by GPS or a GPS university for a minimum of 6 months are eligible to apply. All applicants must have obtained research ethics approval from their home institution for their proposed research in order to be eligible for consideration in this grant program. Grant funds will be awarded to the PI’s home institution on behalf of the PI.

Faculty Research Dissemination Support (RDS) Program
The Research Dissemination Support (RDS) Program is intended to support faculty who promote the visibility and scholarly reputation of Walden University through the dissemination of research and research-related activities conducted by Walden University faculty. The RDS Program offers two types of awards:
Presentation RDS -- provides travel support for faculty presenting their research and research-related activities at professional conferences. The Presentation RDS may be applied for and conferred prior to conference attendance, although disbursement of funds is dependant upon submission of travel-related receipts.
Publication RDS -- provides an award to faculty that publish their research and research-related activities. The Publication RDS is issued after the publication has been published.
